3rd & 4th Grade ( formerly U10 )

In this group, the ball control and passing skills taught to the younger groups are reinforced while shooting on goal and offensive / defensive team tactics are introduced.

Practices : Each player continues to practice and increase their ball, team and match skills. Small sided games ( 2 v 2, 3 v 3 and 4 v 4 ) create more opportunities for scoring and working on team defense tactics.

Matches : 8 v 8 is the maximum with 6 v 6 being ideal for creating scoring opportunities. Goalkeepers are used, off-sides is called and fouls are penalized. The matches can be more competitive than the younger groups but scores and standings are not kept. Coaches act as referees and they may stop games occasionally for teaching moments,

Off Island Tournaments : If there is enough interest among the players and parents, a team(s) may be formed for a tournament on either Columbus Day or Memorial Day weekends.
